My work ranges from playful to serious,  colorful to dark, depending on my mood and the music I listen to while creating.  It is always changing as I am continuously experimenting with new forms, decoration techniques and firing methods.

I love beautiful things that can be used and enjoyed on a daily basis.  I guess that's why I was never satisfied with  making art  that merely hangs on a wall.   To me, there is nothing that compares to the joy of cradling a handmade mug in your hands or setting the dinner table with unique works of art that were made with love and passion.

Wood Fired Pottery

Pottery in Action

I enjoy cooking almost  as much as I enjoy making pottery.  To me,  the two are closely connected. As I cook, I often contemplate what kind of forms would be  best suited to the  preparation of a  particular food, how the colors and textures would complement its presentation.    Making the pottery is almost part of the recipe.
